Randells Green
This project was part of a deeper ambition: a full energy retrofit of a Stroud home, designed in collaboration with architect Alice Shepherd. The clients wanted a kitchen that matched the environmental seriousness of the wider project. Fitted options didn't.
The space itself had been subdivided over time, breaking up what was originally a generous kitchen and dining room. Restoring it to its proper scale was the starting point. A long run of ash cabinetry handles storage and appliances along one wall. The island anchors the centre of the room for preparation, eating, and the kind of use a well-designed kitchen attracts. A custom dining table and integrated window seat completed the scope, giving the whole ground floor a coherence it had lost.
