Dunlace Road
Type Architects developed the concept for this considered residential project, establishing a clear material language from the outset: exposed Red Grandis structural elements throughout, honest in their construction and chosen for durability. Lipley + Parker took the project through on site, with the Somer kitchen designed to work in deliberate contrast, Ash cabinetry sitting cleanly against the warmth of the timber frame, the two materials in conversation rather than competition.
The same Ash palette extends across the house through the fitted joinery, creating a coherent interior where every element is held to the same standard. That consistency doesn't happen by accident. It requires makers who understand the material and clients willing to engage seriously with the detail, both of which this project had in full.
The result is a home where nothing is arbitrary and everything belongs.
