Balbougie Steading

The redevelopment of Balbougie Steading seeks to bring new life to a near-derelict collection of farm buildings in Fife. The project places a strong emphasis on responsible material sourcing, the use of bio-based insulations, and an architectural approach that integrates carefully with the complexity of its surrounding landscape.

Shared design aspirations around responsible sourcing, hard-working details, and material clarity made the collaboration a natural extension of the wider project ethos. The resulting space reflects a quiet rigour: durable, elegant, and thoughtfully made to serve the needs of daily life while honouring the agricultural context of the building.
