Balbougie Steading is the careful restoration of a near-derelict collection of farm buildings in Fife, led by architect Elliot Payne. The project's commitments were clear from the outset: responsible material sourcing, bio-based construction, and an architectural language that earns its place in a complex agricultural landscape.

Somer's involvement grew naturally from those commitments. Douglas Fir cabinetry in an inset style, stainless steel worktops, and details that work as hard as the building they sit inside. Nothing decorative for its own sake. Everything chosen to last and to belong.

The result is a kitchen with the same quiet rigour as the project around it.
